Nerd Checking In

I don't know if this will even post or not because Blogger seems to be having Issues this morning. I can't be sure what those issues are because I can't pull up the Blogger Status page, because of you know...Issues! And on top of that, I'm having Issues this morning too. I woke up feeling Significantly Less Than Great...achy, scratchy throat, brain feels stuffed with fluffy white cotton balls. And Julie, I don't want to hear the "n" word. (That would be "neti pot" for those of you who aren't Julie.) I'm pretending I don't have one of those. I went as far as watching a video of how to use one the other day and spent the whole time with my hands clamped over my mouth muttering "ohgodohgodohgod", so, um, yeah. Not making progress on that front. I actually had something in mind to talk about today - something quilt-related and exhibition-related even! - but I simply can NOT wrap my brain around making coherent sentences about it right now. Maybe later today or tomorrow I will have more firing neurons and can tackle it. In the meantime, you will find below the results of a quiz I found on the Smart Bitches, Trashy Books blog and was reminded of by a post on Lilymania. Yeah, yeah, another quiz. Sorry. Like I said, I'll get back to ya...
Pure Nerd 69 % Nerd, 34% Geek, 34% Dork
For The Record: A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd. The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendencies associated with the "dork." No-longer. Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful.
