We keep one ...Glad you enjoyed the pics, Catherine. We keep one seed feeder going year-round and then add two more (suet feeders) when cold weather hits. We have loads of birds and it's really fun to watch them!

Well dang, CB, and here I was wondering if "blod" was a cool new term. :-D Thanks for the nice comment.

Aw, thanks for the vote, Sue. And I'm glad you liked the snow pics.

They are very cool dogs, aren't they, Diane! I've known a couple of people who had them (before this one, I mean) and I like them a lot.

Thanks, gkgirl! :-)

I want you to give in to your camera longing, Tammy!! :-) I kept trying to remember the same thing about the ring around the moon - what it's supposed to mean. I should google it.

Thanks, Carolvee! Enjoyed your comment! :-)

Oooh, you should get a bird feeder, Melba. I bet your kids would like watching them too. Y'know it might've been Wed that I took that photo instead of Tue. I took them two different nights and am not sure which was which.

Thanks, Kim! It turned out to be super-cold here that day, but not too snowy. And it's starting to get back to "normal-cold" instead of super-cold." It's actually really pretty here today!

Me too, Janet. That's why it's so great having feeders right outside our dining area window.

Thanks, JC! (It was a bugger to get those bird pics. They move fast!)

I don't know that song, Holli, and I think I want to!! :-D

Thanks, Jen. We have porch/deck areas around most of three sides of our house and the glimpse you see in the one photo is part of our front porch. :-)

He'll take those hugs, Dragonfly! He's a "leaner"...leans against our legs to beg for petting.

We're 99% sure we know who owns him, Sara. But I'm not asking her...too much bad history there. We live in a state of leery truce with that particular neighbor. Glad you like the photo!

We don't, Star, but it's a thought. There's so much natural water on our place (two ponds and several streams) that I don't worry so much about the water, but in a really deep freeze they could probably use a heated source. I'll check into that!

Yep, goldfinches, Kristen! We get loads of those. Also chickadees, titmouses (titmice?? heh), cardinals, nuthatches, several different types of woodpeckers, jays. And those are just the ones who come to the feeder. There are loads more who feed on the ground. I hadn't heard that about the moon, but that would fit...that ring was right before the coldest day we've had so far this winter.

Exactly right, Janet. J and I call those "woodpecker wannabees" because they are such loud little suckers when they break open the seeds.

Thanks, Michelle! :::beam:::

I've seen rings around the moon lots, Bee, but that was the most colorful one I've seen. It fascinated me. I want you to visit Kentucky!!!Deb Rhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03322863748665701618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10812805.post-1165616589682849422006-12-08T17:23:00.000-05:002006-12-08T17:23:00.000-05:00oh, mon dieu, c'est magnifique. you guys gets rain...oh, mon dieu, c'est magnifique. you guys gets rainbows around your moons in kentucky? more and more reasons to go visit...;)beehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03515424386033586219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10812805.post-1165607943577432542006-12-08T14:59:00.000-05:002006-12-08T14:59:00.000-05:00the bird pics and the moon pic--wowwee!stay warm!the bird pics and the moon pic--wowwee!
